Hugh Wyld

(he/him) | Writer, Co-Director

As a screenwriter, Hugh has developed a mini series with South of the River Pictures entitled ‘Kompromat’. As Director of theatre/film project HIV Voices, his work is community based. Film and performance work for HIV Voices has been shown at London theatres (such as Soho Theatre and Arcola Theatre) and community spaces, from faith symposiums to queer bookshops. In 2019, he developed five spoken word films with Positive East, screening them across east London. As a theatre-maker Hugh developed a solo show on the theme of animal rage, entitled ‘DOG’, which had its debut at the Camden People’s Theatre in January 2024. Hugh is also an actor. Recent screen credits include the BBC series TRIGONOMETRY, written by Duncan Macmillan and Effie Woods, and DIVINE (Warner brothers pictures). Hugh has also performed at the National Theatre, Globe Theatre, Rose Theatre and Victoria Palace Theatre. 

Daphne Schmon

Daphne is a London-based American Director, whose debut feature ‘The Eye’ recently won Best Director and Best Film at the Greece International Film Festival. Daphne began her career in documentaries with ‘Children of the Wind’ winning 8 international awards including ‘Best Emerging Filmmaker’ and ‘Best Documentary’ at X-Dance. Rey Cuerdo, VP of Business Affairs at Sony Pictures Worldwide, said of the film: “Deeply moving… an exhilarating journey.” Her next documentary ‘Down To Earth’ was broadcast on CNN and distributed by Apple. Daphne’s first narrative short ALL OF ME followed a genderqueer musician, playing at over 30 festivals including Oscar-qualifying Palm Springs International. The film received 6 nominations and 3 awards including Best Cinematography by the BSC. Daphne’s short ‘Tiny Vessels’ won Best Film at Berlin Lift-Off. She has previously collaborated with Hugh Wyld, filming his HIV Voices show in London. Daphne is Founder of ‘Breaking Through The Lens’ (BTTL) initiative helping female and non-binary directors secure finance, with key events at Cannes, Venice and Toronto Film Festivals.

Milo Beyts

Milo Beyts is a fast-rising producer with 4 short films produced within a year of going freelance. Beginning his career working in-house at leading talent agencies ICM and Curtis Brown, he went on to work in development at Moonriver Content established by veteran producer Xavier Marchand where he helped make feature MRS HARRIS GOES TO PARIS for Focus and TV show NAUTILUS for Disney+. His first short THAT? won two prizes for Best First Time Filmmaker and has won acceptance at numerous leading festivals. His second short GOODBYE PYTHON by Frankie Fox was awarded BFI funding and is the first sci-fi film by a transgender director ever made in the UK - it was nominated for Best British Short at the BAFTA A-List Qualifying Iris Prize right at the beginning of its festival run and will be broadcast on Channel 4OD from November 2023. He is developing further short films with a variety of talented directors, a feature with Frankie Fox and four television series with writers represented by ARG, Independent Talent and Peach House. Currently he is Line Producing BFI Future Takes short MAJID ZAFAAR.

Alex has recently been named as part of 2022-2024 BAFTA Elevate and has worked in the creative industry for over 25 years as an actor and a producer. He’s produced a number of shorts, commercials and music videos, winning awards and playing at festivals including Oscar Qualifying Palm Springs, Aesthetica and LSFF. He recently wrapped on his first feature as a producer, ‘Up On The Roof’, starring Olivier award winner Nathaniel Parker. He currently has a diverse slate of projects at all stages of development, including a TV series with Sprout Pictures, ‘Powdered and Dancing’ starring Alex Lawther, ’The Return of Vinney Riley?’ about the greatest English guitarist you’ve never heard of with Samantha Morton attached as the narrator. His latest feature, shot on 8mm ‘HAAR’ is starring Kate Kennedy and Fehinti Balogun. As the co-founder of an award-winning creative technology company he helped deliver the world’s first AI car ad directed by an Oscar winner for Lexus. As an actor he most recently appeared in Tom Stoppard’s newest play Leopoldstadt directed by Patrick Marber.
